Birds of a Feather is Rebecca Fishman and Jen Lauren Grant. We have a combined 20 years of experience capturing weddings. Having each shot hundreds of events on our own, we teamed up to create a new kind of wedding photography that would support both of us as parents, partners, and friends. Our intention is to focus less on the individual taking the picture and more on the conversation that happens when kindred artistic spirits work side by side. We strive to create this spirit of openness, joy and friendship with all our clients.

What is Birds of a Feather?
We are two photographers who share a similar vision and approach to weddings. Because we are committed to being a collective, each wedding gets the care and attention of 2 lead photographers who love working together!
Do you travel for weddings and portrait sessions?
We adore traveling and being inspired by new locales. We’ll go wherever you invite us!
Who will photograph our wedding?
Each wedding is shot by both of us. During the booking process, we’ll schedule a phone call or in person meeting so we can get to know you better and talk through how we work.
Do you shoot anything else besides weddings?
We shoot everything from interiors to lifestyle to fashion to portraits--we're working photographers with feet in many worlds. We think all that other stuff informs our work and makes it stronger!
What kind of equipment do you use?
We shoot our digital work with Canon gear, and have a whole collection of medium-format and 35mm film cameras we use regularly, including Mamiya, Contax, Polaroid—you name it, we probably own it.
What’s involved in booking you?
We ask for a contract and a 50% deposit to secure your date.
Do we get the high resolution files (the digital negatives) to keep?
Absolutely. You’ll be able to download everything directly from the website, which we send you 8-12 weeks post-wedding. We also give you a sweet little box of prints featuring some of our favorite images of the day—because photos look best in your hands, not on a computer screen.
How long will it take to see our photos?
You'll receive a sneak peek within a couple weeks. The rest of the photos will be delivered to you 8-12 weeks after the wedding. We shoot approximately 4,000 images per wedding and whittle it down to 400-800 images, which takes some time!
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer a selection of handmade albums and coffee table books by Redtree Albums. We’d be happy to show them to you in person or email you some photos.
Do you have recommendations for what to wear for our engagement or portrait session?
Yes. We have lots of ideas and we'll talk through everything with you once we set up a date and location. We’re here to help!
